Resident Finds Vehicle Damaged By Golf Ball

A resident of North Brace Road in Summertown summoned Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies to her home Sunday after she found her vehicle had been damaged by a golf ball.

Reports indicate deputies spoke to the victim by telephone around 4:00 p.m. The resident reported she had been outside when she heard something strike her white, 2001 Nissan X-terra. Upon examination, she found that the vehicle had been struck by a golf ball, leaving a dent beneath the driver’s side mirror.

The victim told deputies that two men were golfing directly across the road at Dixie Oaks Golf Course. When she confronted them, however, they denied having hit the ball.

Loss in the case is estimated at $1,000. Investigation is continuing by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
