Court officials have informed us that they have gotten several calls from citizens over the past few days about another jury duty scam going around.

To be clear, the Lawrence County Courts or the Sheriff's Department will never ask past or prospective jurors for financial information, credit card or social security numbers, nor will we instruct you to purchase pre-paid gift cards to have warrants removed for failure to appear for jury service. 

Please DO NOT provide this information to anyone claiming to be associated with the Courts of Lawrence County, the Sheriff's Department or any police department.
 

Further, please DO NOT leave your home to meet these individuals at ANY location. 

Should you receive a call of this nature, please hang up and block the number if possible.
