Work Underway At Glenrock Picnic Area on Natchez Trace

The National Park Service has begun work to replace the Natchez Trace Parkway’s existing Glenrock comfort station, located near milepost 364 in Wayne County. The work began on Monday, July 9th, and will continue through mid-October. Officials indicate the entire Glenrock picnic area will be closed to the public for the duration of the construction period.
Replacing this comfort station is one in a series of projects geared toward improving the restroom facilities along the Natchez Trace Parkway. Officials report that every effort will be made to complete the work within the ninety day construction period in order to minimize impact to the public.
The majority of the work will take place adjacent to the Parkway, and should not impede traffic flow. However, travelers can expect to see construction personnel and equipment, and are asked to exercise caution while traveling through this area.
Questions related to this work can be directed to the Parkway’s Chief of Maintenance, Rusty Rawson, at (662) 680-4020.
