The Lauderdale County District Attorney’s Office has filed a lawsuit against a Florence Alabama motel after continued criminal activity that includes drug related reports to sexual assault.

Reports indicate that the Lauderdale County District Attorney’s Office has filed a lawsuit against the Florence Inn & Suites motel owner, Florence Hospitality, LLC, for numerous reports of criminal activity spanning over 4 years.

Claims made by the lawsuit state that around 878 incidents have been reported in those 4 years that range from assault in domestic, and sexual to drug related.

It was also reported that the DA’s office has sent two drug-related nuisance letters one in 2016 to the motel’s previous owner, and one in 2021 to the new owners.

The Florence Alabama Police Department had previously conducted an investigative report after the Lauderdale County Drug Task Force detailed 188 incidents that took place from January 2015 to April 2016.

With the ongoing illegal activity continuing to take place the District Attorney’s Office is taking whatever legal actions necessary which could include seeking an expedited hearing for a temporary restraining order that would include the motel’s closure during the court process.
