Pedestrian Assaulted By Masked Assailant

   A woman walking along a Lawrenceburg street overnight Wednesday reported she was assaulted by a masked assailant.

   The victim, age 32, told Lawrenceburg Police Officers that she had been walking east along May Street when the attack occurred.

   According to the victim a black male subject wearing a bandanna over his face approached her around 12:05 a.m., then began striking her on the back and arms.

   The victim reported she began yelling, begging for the man to stop while also seeking help. Finally, she said, she bit his hand. At that point he reportedly fled on foot, running toward Buffalo Road.

   Once she was freed, the woman placed a 911 call to summon assistance.

   At the current time detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division have been tasked with delving further into the matter. Anyone with information pertinent to the investigation is encouraged to contact the department at 762-2276.
