Tuesday Crime Report

Theft

Deputies were called to a Lee Avenue home in Ethridge last week where the resident reported a neighbor's pot belly pig had damaged his lawn and garden. He reported his property had sustained some $300 in damages.

Theft

On Saturday a resident of White Oak Drive in Leoma reported to deputies that a dulcimer and guitar, valued at $550, had been stolen from his home.

 Attempted burglary

A Turnpike resident reported that someone had attempted to break into his home last week. The resident reported that someone had pried open the back door using a stick. This caused approximately $100 worth of damage. He said that he had been away from home between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The deputy reported finding a stick lying beside the door and that the lock had been damaged.

Marijuana charges

While serving a warrant at a Beartown Road, Loretto residence Saturday, deputies report finding that Robert Solon Dowden, age 21, had a small bag of marijuana in his pocket. A charge of simple possession of marijuana resulted.

Vandalism

Sometime between 1:00 and 10:00 a.m. Friday is when a resident of Herb Drive says someone vandalized his vehicle. The seventy-five year old victim told police officers that it appeared that someone had shot the top of the vehicle with a BB gun, causing dents. Also, the paint had been scratched above the passenger side wheel well and driver side rear door. He estimated damages at $500.

Vandalism

On Saturday a resident of Voss Street told police officers that a female driver had run through his neighbor's yard and struck a pole on his property. The victim said that the offender had been driving an older model green car. The pole, which was concreted into the ground, had been used as a property marker. He told officers that he last saw the driver heading north on Buffalo Road. Damages were estimated to total $500.

Theft

A Pomeranian dog was reported stolen from a Perry Street home on Friday. The owner reported that the dog had been chained under her carport. She said she left for approximately two hours. She returned to find the dog's collar, but said the dog was missing.

Theft

Police officers took a report last week from a man who said that his portfolio had gone missing while he was shopping. He said that the portfolio contained financial documents and bank checks. He told officers that he had returned to the store, but was unable to locate it.
