Resident Accosted After Stepping Out For A Smoke

A young resident of Leoma summoned help in the early hours Thursday after he stepped outside of his home for a smoke and was accosted.

The eighteen-year-old victim reported the incident around 2:00 a.m. at his Revilo Road home. He stated that he had stepped outside for a smoke and to send a message on Face Book from his phone.

Suddenly, the victim said, someone struck him in the right temple, knocking him to the ground. He told deputies that he could hear the voices of two men as they continued to hit and kick him repeatedly.

The next thing he remembered, the victim said, was awaking in his driveway. He discovered that he was bleeding from both the nose and the leg.

The victim was unable to give a description of his accosters. He told deputies that he never saw faces and that he did not recognize the men’s voices.

Investigation into the matter is continuing at the current time through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
