Resident Reports Fireworks Prank

   At least one area resident reported a prank that involved the use of fireworks in the days leading up to the Fourth of July Holiday.

   The complainant reported to Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies that he had witnessed the prank. He stated that the driver of a green Ford Mustang had pulled to a stop sign at the West Point/Waterloo Road intersection when two juveniles ignited the firework. He reported that the firework traveled beneath the driver’s vehicle before exploding.

   According to the complainant, the man stepped out of his vehicle and spoke with the juveniles before leaving the area.

   Detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division will further investigate the incident.
