Fireworks Stand Burglarized Overnight Monday
Owners reported to law enforcement officers this week that their fireworks stand had been burglarized overnight Monday.
Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that officers were dispatched around 2:00 p.m. Tuesday to 256 Highway 43 South where they met with owners of Purcell Brothers Fireworks.
Stephen Purcell, Jr., told officers burglars had entered the tent and stole the cash register along with the change inside, and their fireworks license.
Purcell indicated that the business next door had video surveillance. A review of the footage, Purcell said, showed only that a driver had pulled in and engaged the hazard lights on his car.
Investigation into the crime is currently continuing through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information pertinent to the investigation is encouraged to contact the department at 762-2276.
