Bullet Strikes Summertown Home

Law enforcement officials report that a Summertown resident was startled overnight Thursday when a bullet struck her home.

The resident summoned Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies to her 15 Lentz Road home on Friday after discovering the bullet hole in one of her bedrooms. She reported that she was startled by a noise sometime between 2:30 and 3:00 a.m., but became less concerned when she heard nothing further.

It was the following day when she found the bullet hole in the wall of a bedroom. No one, she said, was sleeping in the bedroom at the time.

Deputies did recover a bullet from inside the home. They estimate damages to the home to be $1,000.
