Woman Attacked After Leaving Creek

   A woman received emergency medical attention Sunday for injuries she reportedly sustained in an attack after swimming at a local creek. .

   The victim, age 27, told deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that she and some friends had been swimming at a local creek prior to the attack.

While they were on the way back to her residence around 5:00 p.m., she reported that she and Michael Dwayne Fisher, 22, of 108 Foster Avenue, Ethridge, became involved in an argument. She said the argument began when they refused to transport Fisher to another location.

   The victim said Fisher had been consuming beer and taking pills, and that he began punching her in the face. She said that she had the driver stop a block from her home, jumped out, ran home, then placed a 911 call for help.

   Members of the Lawrence County Ambulance Service responded to the scene where they rendered aid to the victim’s injuries, however she refused transport to Crockett Hospital.

Deputies note that the victim had sustained wounds to the face, neck and arms, her face was bleeding and some of her teeth had been knocked loose.

   Although deputies had been unable to located Fisher at the time reports were filed, warrants were obtained, charging him with aggravated assault.
