The 16th Annual Communicator Awards, Lawrenceburg Native Among Winners

Barbara Howell of Lawrenceburg, TN is a recipient of the 2010 Communicator Silver Award of Distinction for the Promotion Kit created for her book, “Splinters: The Pain, The Passion, The Point”, published by Paige1Publishing in Tulsa, OK 2009.

The Splinters Promotion Kit was created by Howell in conjunction with JP Jones, owner of Paige1Media; a graphics firm in Tulsa, OK.

The kit includes posters, bookmarks and a variety of news and information on Howell and her book, ranging from the author’s biography to press releases and reader’s comments.

Howell’s promotional packet was selected for this honor out of over 7000 entries in the 2010 competition. The 2010 Communicator Awards received over 7000 entries from ad agencies, interactive agencies, production firms, in-house creative professionals, graphic designers, design firms, and public relations firms. 

With these of entries received from across the US and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals.

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), a 550+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. 

Current IAVA membership represents a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms including:  Condè Nast, Coach, Disney, Estee Lauder, HBO, Keller Crescent, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Tribal DDB, Victoria’s Secret, Wired, Yahoo!, and many others.
