Vandals Bash Windows In Loretto, Five Points Areas

Authorities are attempting to identify individuals who went on a vandalism spree overnight Sunday, bashing vehicle windows in the Five Points and Loretto areas.

Shaun James Noblit, 20, reported to Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies that someone had bashed the windshield, headlight, and bumper on his 2000 GMC 1500 truck, causing some $1,100 in damages. Deputies noted that it appeared vandals had used a baseball bat to inflict the damages. The truck had been parked in the driveway of Noblit’s 843 Lexington Highway, Loretto, home at the time the incident occurred.

James Kevin Roberson, a 40-year-old resident of 1027 Lexington Highway, reported a similar incident. Roberson stated that the windshield and driver side window had been busted out of his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado while it was parked in his driveway. Damages were estimated to total $900. Deputies noted that two other vehicles parked in the driveway were left untouched.

The same was reported by 53-year-old Eula Elaine Jackson of 121 Five Points Road, Loretto. She told deputies that she had discovered the rear window of her 2002 Ford Focus had been busted while it was parked in her driveway. Her other vehicles, she stated, had been left undamaged. Damages there totaled approximately $500.

A fourth report was filed by 84 Five Points Road, Five Points, resident Hubert Eli Denton, age 59. Denton stated that he had heard a loud “bang” outside his home around 11:00 p.m. Sunday night. When he went to investigate, he said he saw a small, dark colored truck pulling out of his driveway.

When he went to get into his Kia Sepia the following morning, Denton said he discovered the rear glass had been busted. Damages were estimated to total $500.

Each of the cases currently remains under investigation through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone who has information concerning the crimes is urged to contact the department at 931-762-3626.
