Arrestee Attempts To Bite Arresting Officer

   A Lawrenceburg man arrested in the early hours Sunday faced additional charges after he attempted to bite his arresting officer.

   A Lawrenceburg Police Officer reported finding 39-year-old Willie W. Rippy, III, of 314 Johnson Street, in an extremely intoxicated condition in the parking lot behind Good Times Bar, 326 Mattoxtown Road.

   Rippy was placed under arrest for public intoxication. The officer reports that Rippy was belligerent and uncooperative, cursing throughout the event. While he was being transported to the Lawrence County Jail, the officer indicates Rippy threatened three times to bite him.

   When he attempted to enter the booking room, the officer reports that Rippy suddenly spun around, screamed, and attempted to bite his face and neck.

   As a result of the incident, Rippy was additionally charged with the crime of assault. He is scheduled to answer both charges through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on August 3.
