A tragic fatal crash occured Sunday night in Lawrence County.

 

Authorties report that on Sunday night around 8:00 p.m. a fatal crash occured on Buffalo Road near Flatwoods Road.

The wreck was a single vehicle crash where the vehicle had flipped causing the victim to be ejected, and tragically die in the wreck.

Officers on the scene confirmed the road would possibly be closed till sometime around 12:00 p.m.

There has been no further information released at this time, and we will update as more details become available.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol John White, 35, was the victim in the fatal single vehicle crash that occured around 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.

The THP stated that White had been drinking when he was traveling along Buffalo Road near Flatwoods Road in Lawrence County when he failed to negotiate a turn causing his pickup truck go off the roadway slamming into a concrete culvert.

White who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the vehicle on impact, and died from the injuries he sustained.
