Armed Stranger Accosts Resident At Front Door

A resident of Weakley Creek Road reported to authorities that she was accosted at her front door by a masked, armed stranger late Wednesday evening.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies report they responded to 800 Weakley Creek Road shortly before 11:00 p.m.

The resident stated she had heard her outside dog barking and went to the door to investigate. She saw three young men walking west along the roadway. She told deputies she closed the door and within moments heard something hit the side of the trailer, then the front door.

When the resident opened the front door, she reports one of the young men was standing there with a gun in hand and a scarf tied around his face. He reportedly ordered her to put her dog up, then hand over all her money. The victim said she told the man she would put her dog up, then closed the door on him and turned the lock. She said she ran into the hallway and placed a 911 call to summon help.

The victim told deputies she heard the man “kick the door a couple of times” after which he apparently left.

The man was described as a white male in his early 20’s with blue eyes and short, dark, curly hair. He stood around 5’10” tall. At the time of the incident he was wearing a white Jersey bearing green numbers, white basketball pants with a green stripe down the side, and had a green bandana pulled over his face.
