Victim Airlifted With Gunshot Wound
A Lawrenceburg woman was airlifted to a Nashville hospital Wednesday afternoon after she sustained a gunshot wound inside her home.
Authorities were dispatched to the Mattoxtown Road home of Kimberly Bivens, age 35, and Rick Allen Lewis, age 40, around 12:30pm. The couple was reportedly cleaning a .22 caliber rifle when the firearm discharged striking Bivens in the upper torso.
Emergency personnel quickly responded to the scene to provide initial medical attention. Bivens was then flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
