Assault Leads To Arrest In Recent Church Burglary

While investigating an assault last week police officers report that they gained information that lead to an arrest in connection with a recent church burglary.

The burglary at Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 1890 Buffalo Road, was reported on Thursday. Church officials reported arriving to find that a desktop computer had been taken from the church office.

Those responsible made entry through a window on the north side of the building, into the sanctuary. Computers and sound equipment had been disconnected. A lighter and water bottles had been discarded in the sanctuary, as well.

On Friday officers were dispatched to a Maple Avenue address in regards to an assault. While there, they report they were able to gather information about the burglary.

After gaining consent to search the premises investigators reportedly found two Polaroid LCD monitors beneath a bed that matched the description of items missing from the church.

During resulting interviews, investigators learned that a Bose speaker taken from the church had been thrown out on the side of the roadway in the vicinity of Hope Springs Park. Patrol officers went to the scene and report recovering the speaker along with a brief case.

As a result of the investigation Brian Keith Hogan, age 34, of 432½ Fifth Street, Lawrenceburg was arrested on charges of burglary, theft over $1,000, and vandalism. He was scheduled an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on September 4, 2014.
