Resident reports safe stolen from home

Law enforcement officers are looking into a report that a safe was stolen from a Lawrenceburg home during the weekend.

Lawrenceburg Police Department reports show that the resident filed a complaint on Sunday. She said that her safe, which contained $302 in cash, was stolen out of her bedroom while she was at work.

The victim told officers that her boyfriend was still at her house when she left for work but was gone when she returned home. She said she believes that he has a drug problem. If he was not the person who stole the safe, she said she thought that he knew who was responsible.

Officers found no sign of forced entry to the home. They ran a warrants check on the resident’s boyfriend and found that he had outstanding warrants in both Indiana and Florida for failure to appear in court.

The case remains under investigation at the current time.
