Texas Fugitive Served Lawrence Warrants

A Texas fugitive apprehended in Lewis County as part of last week’s Operation FALCON initiative was brought to Lawrence County during the weekend to accept service of warrants issued in connection with local crimes.

Officials with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report that Robert Ferren Crunk, who sometimes goes by the alias “Cary Evan Larson,” 45, was apprehended at 110 Charlotte Street in Hohenwald Saturday. Crunk was wanted in Harris County, Texas, on one count of murder with a deadly weapon.

Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation had obtained information, indicating that Crunk was traveling from Atlanta, Georgia, in a red 1995 Toyota Forerunner registered to the Lewis County address. Their information also revealed that Crunk might be living on Dry Weakley Road or Shepherd Road in Lawrence County.

TBI advised area authorities to use caution when approaching Crunk, “as this subject may run or attempt to flee from law enforcement.” They also warned officers to be advised of “caution indicators,” including “homicide and dangerous firearms.” They warned,  “This subject is facing 45 years in Harris County, Texas.”

Authorities involved in Operation Falcon, including Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies and members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, were able to locate Crunk in Lewis County and take him into custody. He was then transported to Lawrence County in connection with worthless checks written to an Ethridge-area market.

Crunk was booked at the Lawrence County Jail under a fugitive from justice warrant, as well as a charge of fugitive from recovery.

Authorities indicate Crunk will be returned to Texas to face prosecution on the more serious charge.
