American Red Cross To Provide ARC Services To Giles And Wayne Counties

Effective July, 01, 2011 the Lawrence County Chapter of the American Red Cross (ARC) will assume the responsibility of providing ARC services to Giles and Wayne Counties.

Both counties have previously been a part of the Maury and Rutherford Chapters however upon restructuring within the Nashville Region, the pair will join Lawrence for a tri-county service area.

"The Red Cross motto is 'Neighbors Helping Neighbors'.  I see this restructuring as a perfect opportunity of the three neighboring counties to come together to aid each other in times of great need and for health and safety educational opportunities", said Ben Luna, Chairman of the Lawrence County ARC Chapter.

The combined resources of the three counties will be put to use for everyone in need of assistance and with a stronger volunteer foundation, educational opportunities will increase within each county.

Ginny Benson, Lawrence County ARC Executive Director stated, "I'm excited for the opportunities presented in this coming change.  The local Chapter will work tirelessly to see that each person is cared for and each class is taught in the most professional manner in all three counties."

All American Red Cross volunteers in Wayne and Giles Counties are invited to join with Lawrence County Volunteers for a monthly meeting on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Chapter Headquarters at 181 Prosser Road in Lawrenceburg.

For more information or to request Red Cross assistance please contact Ginny Benson at 931-762-1599 or 931-629-6800.  Ben Luna can be reached at 931-629-2879
