Warrants Served In Connection With Two Domestic Assaults

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies served two warrants during the weekend in connection with alleged instances of domestic violence.

On Sunday, deputies report serving a warrant on Justin Edward Mashburn, 24, of 106 Rabbit Town Road, Loretto, charging him with the crime of domestic assault. Documentation indicates that Mashburn “did commit the offense of domestic assault by pushing his girlfriend…out of the doorway, placing her in fear.”

According to documentation, allegations were made that Mashburn was under the influence of an illegal substance at the time the assault occurred. In addition, allegations were made that Mashburn had expressed verbal threats against the victim.

Mashburn was booked through the Lawrence County Jail on the assault charge. He is scheduled for an appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on July 12, 2010.

The second warrant was served to Eric Ray Smith, 31, of 202 Johnson Branch Road, Pulaski. Smith, too, was charged with one count of domestic assault. He, also, is required to answer the charge through general sessions court on July 12, 2010. Additional information regarding Smith’s case was not readily available.
