Lawrenceburg Man Transported For Medical Care After Jumping From Moving Car

Motorists summoned emergency personnel to an area on Springer Road Saturday afternoon after a man reportedly jumped from a moving vehicle.

Lawrence Central Dispatch sent Lawrenceburg Police Officers and Lawrence County Ambulance Service personnel to an area of the roadway in the vicinity of 2105 Springer Road shortly before 3:00 pm.

When they arrived, officers report the man was sitting in the gutter. They report that he was awake and alert, but that he made no verbal response to their inquiries.

Bystanders told officers he had jumped from a blue car parked nearby. The driver, the injured man’s girlfriend, reported they had argued about ending their relationship.

She said the man stated he wanted out of the car and she began to slow, but that he opened the door and jumped. Motorists traveling behind the car reported he jumped, then rolled into the gutter.

Officers asked the man whether this was what occurred and they report he “shook his head yes.” He was then transported by ambulance to Crockett Hospital for emergency medical attention.

Reports show that the couple’s two-year-old son was in the back seat when the incident occurred.
