Officers Overcome By Meth Lab Fumes

Officials indicate that police officers were overcome by fumes at a meth lab when a drug bust was undertaken by local drug agents Thursday evening.

The incident occurred when agents were conducting a bust at a home at 20 Blessing Road in the New Prospect area. The three agents affected, officials said, were transported to Crockett Hospital for treatment, then later released.

A press release regarding items seized from the meth lab is expected to be released shortly through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
