Argument Over Bacon Escalates To Assault

A pregnant Lawrenceburg woman reported to authorities Monday that an argument regarding how she cooked bacon quickly escalated into an assault, with four minors witnessing the ensuing altercation.

The victim, a twenty-year-old resident of Lawrenceburg’s Roberts Avenue, who was 8 ½ months into her pregnancy, summoned Lawrenceburg Police Officers to the home around 10:45 a.m. She reported that she had been cooking bacon that morning for her husband and their one and two-year-old children while two neighborhood children looked on. When her husband entered the room, she reports that he became angry and initiated an argument, saying that “she was cooking the bacon wrong.”

The argument, the victim said, quickly escalated with her husband cursing her. When he stated that he was going to leave, the woman reports that she began to “help him” by throwing his clothing onto the front porch. During this activity, she said he came onto the front porch, grabbed her around her bulging waist, and dragged her back inside. He then reportedly began making threats to “put her in the hospital.”

Officers indicate the man was gone upon their arrival, and that the neighbor children left shortly thereafter. Although medical attention was offered to the victim, officers indicate she declined.

No charges had yet been filed at the time reports were generated. Investigation into the matter, however, is continuing through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
