Items Stolen From Antiques Store

A Hohenwald resident who rents space at a local antiques store reported to authorities during the weekend that some of her merchandise had gone missing.

The victim, age 54, told officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department that she had checked on her merchandise on Saturday at Carriage House Antiques on the Public Square. When she arrived, she said she noticed that the hasp had been cut from a wooden box in which she stores some of her items.

The victim reported that several items were missing including three Hummel figurines, twelve pieces of silver-plated flatware, and three costume rings. Altogether, she said the items had a value of $289.

The victim told officers that some of the other individuals renting space had recently discovered items missing, as well. She said that they had not reported the thefts because they had been able to locate their items at a local pawn shop.

Investigation into the crime is currently underway.
