Checks Stolen, Cashed At Local Business
Checks stolen from a local woman were reportedly cashed at a local business.
The victim, age 29, reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Friday that someone had stolen checks from her, and that two had been cashed at Kroger on North Locust Avenue.
The victim reported that a check in the amount of $153.90 was cashed on May 7. A second check, in the amount of $49.57, was cashed on May 19.
The victim said that she had no idea when the checks were stolen or by whom. Investigation in the matter is on-going.
