Burglary incidents reported by local residents

Lawrenceburg Now

Local residents have reported some burglary incidents recently that are being investigated through the Lawrenceburg Police Department.

A couple from Albany, Georgia reported that they had been notified that someone had driven a vehicle into the door of their storage unit and burglarized it. They told police officers they are in the process of moving to Tennessee and had stored some of their stuff at the Mattoxtown Road storage facility.

Once they learned of the crime they drove to Lawrenceburg to check their belongings. They said that the person responsible had stolen a floor jack, two jack stands, and three TVs. They estimated their loss at $1,720.

Officers investigated the burglary of a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis while it was parked outside of a home on Crowson Road. The victim said that the vehicle had been rummaged through and that a cell phone was stolen along with a gold ring and two silver rings. He said they had a combined value of $200.

A vehicle burglary on Clearview Avenue resulted in a $400 loss for the owner. She told police officers that she had been to a funeral and when she returned home she thought she had locked her car, a 2005 Ford Taurus, and went inside.

When she came out the next morning she realized that she had left the car unlocked. Cash she planned to use to pay bills, $400, was the only thing that appeared to be missing.
Anyone who has information about any of the crimes should contact the police department at 931-762-2276.
