A Loretto police officer and a Drug Task Force officer work together during a traffic stop to keep more drugs out of Lawrence County.

 

 

According to the Loretto police department on Tuesday a Drug Task Force officer, and a Loretto Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling into Loretto on Hwy 101 East Main Street.

The driver, Michael Prater, 33 of Lawrenceburg was driving on a revoked license, and consented to a search of the vehicle.

The officers found over 4 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 1 gram of a brownish substance believed to be heroin, 1.5 Suboxone strips, approximately 5 grams of marijuana, plastic baggies, and drug paraphernalia including a loaded syringe.

Officers reported that all of the drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in bags that belonged to the passenger, Tracey Williams, 35 of Rogersville, Alabama who also had outstanding warrants in Lauderdale County.

Prater and Williams were both arrested then transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
