Crack Dealer Busted In Undercover Operation

A Lawrenceburg crack dealer was busted during a recent undercover operation, severing a Nashville-to-Lawrenceburg influx of the drug.

Officials with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department allege that a confidential source purchased crack cocaine from 314 David Street Resident Anthony Quinn Wilson on three different occasions. During the third transaction, which took place on Wednesday, Wilson allegedly sold the undercover source a quantity of crack cocaine wrapped in a paper towel for $300.

Members of the undercover team, comprised of agents from the sheriff’s department as well as Lawrenceburg Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, placed Wilson under arrest around 12:15 p.m. on three counts of sale of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of resale and possession of drug paraphernalia. At the time of his arrest, agents report that Wilson was in possession of approximately 21 grams of crack along with the department’s $300 buy money.

During interrogation Wilson allegedly told agents that he had purchased the drug from two men in Nashville on Tuesday and had sold half of the quantity in just twenty-four hours. He stated that one of the men “cooked the powder cocaine into crack cocaine in Nashville and that he (Wilson) transports it back to Lawrenceburg and sells it.” He indicated that he had made the trip to Nashville on Tuesday, purchased powder cocaine from one man, then had the other “cook it up for him.”

Wilson indicated that he regularly purchases two ounces of the drug at a cost of $1,200 per ounce, and makes approximately $300 profit off each ounce.

Wilson was booked on the charges through the Lawrence County Jail where he remains incarcerated in lieu of a $41,000 bond. He is scheduled to answer the charges through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on Monday, July 6, 2009.
