Tuesday Crime Report

Theft

A resident of Fifth Street in Iron City reported to deputies Sunday that medications had been stolen from his home. He said that around thirty pills of Gabapentin had gone missing while he was taking a shower. He gave deputies the name of a person who was inside his home at the time. He said he had gone to take his medicine and discovered that the bottle had been moved. When he eventually found it, he said it had been emptied.

Gas theft

A clerk at Taz’s Big Oak Market on Rabbit Trail Road filed a report with sheriff’s deputies Saturday after an unknown person pumped more than $88 worth of gasoline, then drove away without paying. The clerk described the vehicle as an older model Ford Ranger truck with a green passenger side door. She said that the man who pumped the gas was a 30-40 year old white male, six feet tall, and was wearing a ball cap.

Theft

Deputies took a complaint from a Brewer Road resident Sunday who reported that someone had stolen a red 18 foot, dual axle trailer with a wooden floor. The complainant said that the trailer belonged to her father, but that her son had been using it to haul furniture. When she noticed it was missing she checked with her son, but he said he did not have it. The trailer has an estimated value of $2,500.

Fire loss

A local man reported to deputies last week that his 50’x100’ metal building had burned down in mid-April. The value of the building was $100,000. Deputies noted that there was nothing to indicate that the fire was suspicious in nature.
