Lawrenceburg Council Regular Session Set For Thursday Morning

The regularly scheduled bi-monthly business meeting of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council will be held Thursday morning.

Members of the council have a moderate number of business items to consider when they convene inside the Council Meeting Room at the Lawrenceburg Municipal Complex.

Two ordinances have been placed on the council’s agenda. The first is to establish impound lot regulations and fees for impounded and/or seized vehicles. The ordinance is being considered on second and final reading. The second ordinance is to amend the city’s 2013-2014 budget ordinance.

Council members will consider approval of a resolution that would allow the city to enter into a contract with the State of Tennessee, “For sweeping of state streets within the city limits of Lawrenceburg and other street and/or right of way maintenance agreements.”

A resolution on the agenda that would allow the city, “To submit an application to the South Central Tennessee Development District for Community Development Block Grant funds…for Old Military Road storm sewer improvements.”

There is a resolution on the agenda to allow the city to accept a bid and enter into a contract with Rogers Group for roadway improvements to Remke Street and Helton Drive in the Lawrenceburg Industrial Park. This is in regards to a 2011 Appalachian Regional Commission grant received by the city to cover costs associated with work on these streets.

The last resolution is to reappoint Jerry Jones to the Board of Public Utilities.

The meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.
