Investigation Reveals Driver Passed, Then Backed Into Another Vehicle

   Police officers arrested a Lawrenceburg woman Sunday after investigation into a motor vehicle accident revealed she had passed another vehicle, then stopped and backed into it.

   Britta Danielle Rumbaugh, age 28, of 824 Windsor Drive was incarcerated on assault charges in connection with a crash that took place at around 6:00 p.m. near the Mahr Avenue/West Gaines Street intersection.

   Officer with the Lawrenceburg Police Department report that marks were clearly visible on the street substantiating witness testimony. They report that Rumbaugh made a legal pass and overtook the victim’s vehicle.

They said she pulled in front of the other driver, a thirty-two year old Lawrenceburg man, made a sudden stop, then put her car in reverse and backed into the victim’s 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. They said she then accelerated her vehicle causing a “burn out.”

   According to the report, at one point Rumbaugh told an officer, “I should have hit him harder.” She allegedly stated, “If he walks off from this I will go to jail later.”

   Rumbaugh was incarcerated at the Lawrence County Detention Center.

   Damages to the victim’s car were estimated at $200.
