Pulley Among THP Graduates

   A single Lawrence County resident stood among the members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Class of 2007 during graduation ceremonies Friday.

   The graduation ceremonies for Trooper Cadet Class #607 were held at Hermitage Church of Christ in Hermitage. Lawrenceburg resident Johnathon H. Pulley was one of the thirty-seven graduates.

   According to a press release issued through the Tennessee Department of Safety, the cadets were required to complete “four months of extensive law enforcement training at the THP Training Center, 275 Stewarts Ferry Pike. The 836 hours of classroom training is divided into 12 major categories that include criminal and constitutional law, patrol procedures, ethical conduct and firearms…”

   Graduates now advance to the field training phase, which requires a minimum of eight weeks.

   THP Troopers are tasked with many duties, including the safety of more than 15,000 miles of state and federal highways.
