Three Charged In Connection With Robbery Of Market

Three individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred at a Fall River Road market late Tuesday.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to B&B Market at the Fall River Road crossroads Tuesday evening. A clerk reported that a man had come into the market asking for ice, then began talking about aliens. At that time, she reported, he began demanding that he hand over money.

The clerk stated that the man pushed over the cash register, then reached underneath the counter. At that time, he told deputies, he pulled a gun on the man. The man then abruptly left with a woman who had accompanied him.

Deputies were later able to identify three suspects in the case and place them under arrest. Scotty Lane Smith, 49, of Lawrenceburg, Toni Shera McKissack, 27, of Lawrenceburg, and Timothy Brad Hammond, 31, of St. Joseph, were each charged with one count of robbery.

All three suspects were released from custody under a bond of $10,000 apiece. They are slated to answer the charges through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on July 7, 2008.
