Extension Office To Host Food Preservation Classes

Officials with the Lawrence County Extension Agency have announced that they will be hosting food preservation classes for residents interested in learning the basics.

The classes, slated for 9:00 a.m. to noon on June 11 and 12, will cover preservation of food through the processes of dehydration, freezing and canning.

A $20 registration fee is required in order to cover the cost of produce and equipment. Those interested in participating must register by calling the extension agency at 762-5506. Individuals should call as soon as possible, as class size is limited.
