Six-year-old dies in grain silo accident in Ethridge

On June 2, 2018, agencies with various Lawrence County Emergency Services were dispatched to the area of Ethridge Red Hill Road in reference to a six-year-old child who had become entangled in an auger system inside a grain silo.

Personnel with Ethridge, Henryville, Lawrenceburg, New Prospect, and Crawfish Valley Fire Departments, Lawrence County EMS, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Ethridge Police Department, and Vanderbilt Lifeflight responded and worked tirelessly to save the child.

Unfortunately, the child, Shawn Hudson Corum of Victor, Idaho, was pronounced dead on the scene. Shawn was visiting family when the incident occurred.

Please pray for the family and friends of Shawn as well as the emergency personnel who responded to this tragic accident.
