Authorities Seek Info In Summertown Arsons

Law enforcement officials have issued a plea for information relating to three different arson fires that have been reported in past days in the Summertown area.

Investigators with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department issued the call for assistance on Monday. According to a press release issued through the department, the first two suspicious fires were discovered at a single home, located at 20 West Hannah Road. Firefighters were summoned to the home on both October 23 and November 28 of last year.

The last of the three fires was reported in the early morning hours Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Emergency personnel responded to a home located at 4 Caldwell Road to find that a vacant house had been completely destroyed by the fire. Fresh tire tracks were noted at the scene, and owners report that a safe was missing from the structure.

Anyone who has information regarding any of the three blazes is urged to call the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 800-762-3017. Those calling may remain anonymous, and rewards of up to $1,500 are offered for information leading to an arrest or conviction in arson cases.
