Ethridge Voters Select Brewer And Workman

Voters in the City of Ethridge made their way to the polls on Tuesday, re-electing one city commissioner and adding one new face to the board.

Three individuals were vying for two seats on the Ethridge Board of Commissioners. Mark A. Brewer received 30 votes, incumbent Rex A. Johnson 22 votes, and incumbent Davaid Workman 25 votes. A total of 44 residents cast votes in the race.

Top vote-getters Brewer and Workman won their bids for election. The seat currently held by Commissioner John Barnes did not appear on Tuesday’s ballot.

Johnson had served four years on the commission during which he served as Mayor. Prior to that, he held the position of City Manager.

Members of the commission will next meet in regular session on Monday, June 17, 2013. Ethridge statutes dictate that during the meeting, members select one commissioner to serve as mayor.
