Loretto Resident Succumbs To Injuries Sustained In Hit And Run Accident
A Loretto man died last week as the results of injuries he sustained in a hit and run accident that occurred earlier in the month.
Jerry Springer, age 60, passed away on Thursday, May 19 as the results of injuries he sustained in a May 10 hit and run accident that occurred on U.S. Highway 43 South.
Officials indicate Springer was riding a bicycle along the highway when he was struck by a northbound Toyota truck. He sustained critical injuries as a result of the impact and was transported for immediate medical attention.
Witnesses reported that the driver failed to stop and render aid. Law enforcement officials have since been looking for clues that might lead them to identify the driver. Anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation is urged to contact the Loretto Police Department at 931-853-6797.
