Burglars Hit Summertown And Leoma Homes

   A couple awakened to find intruders inside their home in the Summertown area Friday, while a Leoma resident reported burglars scaled a TV tower in order to break into his home on the same date.

   The resident of 324 Dunn Leoma Road reported to Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies that the burglar who entered his home had climbed a television antenna tower adjacent to the building in order to gain access through a window.

Several items of electronics were reported missing including two laptop computers, two flat screen TVs a Wii game system and an Xbox 360 game system. The culprits apparently left via the front door, leaving it unlocked as they fled.

   A neighbor reported noticing an older model red Corvette pull out of the driveway around 10:00 that morning.

   Friday night a resident of Bryant Boswell Road, Summertown reported he and his girlfriend were sleeping when they were awakened by an intruder.

He indicated that he heard a noise, opened his eyes and found that someone was shining a flashlight on them. Once he noticed that the resident was awake, the intruder quickly fled from the premises.

   Deputies found that an object had been used to break the glass out of one door. Also, a wrench was found discarded on the kitchen floor. Nothing appeared to be missing however damages were estimated to total $600.
