Hensley Expected To Make Full Recovery

Jenna Hensley, the eight-year-old daughter of 70th District State Representative Dr. Joey Hensley, sustained injuries after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning at their home in Lewis County.

Authorities indicate that Hensley had gone to get the mail when the accident occurred. As she turned from the mailbox to return to the house, she was struck by the car.

Hensley was airlifted to a Nashville hospital where she was treated for injuries including broken bones and internal injuries. She is expected to make a full recovery.

Charges are not expected to be forthcoming against the driver.

UPDATE ON CONDITION

Jenna had a good night and her blood work is good. They hope to do surgery on her leg this afternoon.

They are still in ICU so no visitors or gifts yet. Dr. Hensley tells me they have plenty of food and everything else they need.

He is thankful for all your prayers and asks that you keep praying as they have a long way to go.
