Traffic stop yields seizure of drugs and two arrests

Lawrenceburg Now

During a recent traffic stop, a tip from a concerned citizen led Ethridge Police officers to arrest a man they describe as a “known drug dealer,” along with his companion.

Officials recently reported receiving information indicating that Jackie Boyd Johnson had “moved back into the Ethridge area and was staying with an unknown female.” The following day, officers spotted Johnson driving a Ford Explorer on Highway 43 near Brewer Road. Having knowledge that Johnson’s driver’s license had been revoked, the officer conducted a traffic stop.

While they were searching Johnson’s vehicle, officers found a secret compartment underneath the radio. They found 2 ½ grams of what was suspected to be methamphetamine concealed in the compartment along with a small amount of marijuana. These items were seized along with a syringe, digital scales, and the vehicle itself.

Johnson and his passenger, Katie Jo Christman, were transported without incident to the Lawrence County Jail. They were both incarcerated on charges of possession of Schedule II narcotics for resale, possession of Schedule VI narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnson was also charged with driving on a revoked driver’s license.
