New Chief Commends Officers

Lawrenceburg Police Chief Judy Moore commended two of the department’s officers during Thursday’s city commission meeting.

Moore says officers Jeremy Methvin and David White recently responded to a “Be On the Look Out” call after citizens reported seeing a vehicle driving erratically in the Three Oaks area of Highway 43 North.

Moore told commissioners White realized the driver was unconscious and was able to use his patrol car to stop the vehicle near Garland’s Wholesale, before it reached a more high-traffic area.

Moore commended Methvin and White for their actions, which she says likely prevented injuries to the driver and others.

White sustained a minor cut in the incident. Moore said the driver, who is diabetic, had been traveling from Columbia.
