Delay In Release Of TCAP Scores

All Tennessee school systems were emailed on Tuesday, May 20th with a notification by the Tennessee Department of Education that there would be a delay of at least 10 or more days in the release of TCAP scores for students in grades 3-8.

TCAP scores are required by law to count as a percentage of the students’ final grade, and in Lawrence County Schools the scores count as 15%.

Please note that Lawrence County Schools officially requested a waiver for our students, which means that the students’ grades in class will be the final grade for the semester. Report cards will be finalized, printed, and sent home in the regular fashion without the TCAP scores being included.

As the delay is completely out of the control of Lawrence County Schools, any concerns regarding this issue should be addressed to Education Commissioner Kevin Huffman by email at Kevin.S.Huffman@tn.gov.
