Vandals Hurl Rock Through Window Of Amish Home

Residents of the local Amish community startled by the sound of breaking glass quickly discovered that someone had hurled a rock through their window.

The problem is an on-going one, Lawrence County Sheriff Kenny Taylor says, and one with which he is hopeful area residents will be able to help.

No one was injured in this latest incident, however authorities report that the vandalism did result in approximately $800 worth of damages to the family’s home. A window was damaged, along with some siding.

In an effort to crack down on these crimes targeting members of the Amish community, Taylor asks that anyone who might have information regarding the crimes contact his department as quickly as possible. You may reach the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department at 762-3626.

Should the vandals be identified and a case be made against them, Taylor indicates they will be prosecuted.
