Warrants Issued After Wife Is Choked And Chased

Warrants were issued against a Lawrenceburg man Wednesday evening after he allegedly attacked his wife, choked her, then chased her on foot to their daughter’s home.

Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were dispatched to investigate a domestic altercation that occurred inside a Honeysuckle Drive home around 10:00 p.m.

The female victim, age 46, told officers that she and her husband, Robert Reed, had become involved in an argument that quickly escalated to a physical assault. She reported that when she attempted to call for help he took her cell phone, breaking it on the floor.

She said that he then grabbed her around the neck and choked her until she lost consciousness. When she awakened, the victim said she fled from the house, running to her daughter’s home approximately one block away, her husband in pursuit.

The daughter told officers that her father kicked in her door and entered without her permission. She said that he began to make threats against her, placing her in fear for her safety.

She reported that when she said she was going to call for police assistance he fled from the home. Reed reportedly ran back to Honeysuckle Drive where he got into a white Chevrolet truck and fled toward Old Florence Road.

Officers noted that the victim had sustained “visible red hand prints” around both sides of her neck. Although a cursory search was conducted, officers were unable to locate Reed at that time.

Officers report Reed caused around $520 worth of damage to his daughter’s front door area.

Deputies indicate that warrants were subsequently issued against Reed, charging him with the crimes of aggravated assault, aggravated domestic assault, and vandalism in excess of $500.
