Inmate Fight Causes Injury To One
A fight that erupted between two inmates at the Lawrence County Jail has resulted in a trip to the hospital for one and additional charges against the other.
Reports indicate the fight occurred on Sunday, May 9, between inmates Brian Keith Rummage, 20, of 1524 East Burt Drive, Columbia, and Larry Christopher Cox, 34, of 805 Irvin Street, Loretto. During the altercation, reports stated that Rummage, “did assault inmate Larry Cox in the…jail by striking him in the face until Cox’s facial bones were broken.”
Cox was subsequently transported to Crockett Hospital for medical attention.
Rummage was charged with aggravated assault. He is scheduled for an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on June 7, 2010.
