Purse Snatched While Victim Sits Inside Car

   A local woman reported to authorities Friday that her purse had been snatched while she sat inside her car at a Lawrenceburg market.

   The victim, a fifty-two-year-old resident of Lawrenceburg’s Debus Street, drove to the Lawrenceburg Police Department to report the crime. She indicated that she had been sitting inside her car with the windows down in the parking lot of North End Market on Mahr Avenue when the crime occurred.

   The victim reported that as she sat in the car at approximately 12:45 p.m. a young white man walked by, reached inside her car, grabbed her purse, then fled.

   The thief, described as six foot tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, and wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a dark color baseball cap, reportedly fled from the parking lot, heading west on foot in the direction of some nearby apartments.

   Loss as a result of the crime is estimated to be $145. Anyone who has information regarding the crime is encouraged to contact the department at 762-2276.
