Lawrenceburg Council Will Meet Thursday Morning

Members of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council are scheduled to meet in regular session Thursday morning.

A single ordinance appears on the agenda. It calls for the council to establish impound lot regulations and fees for impounded and/or seized vehicles. The ordinance will be heard on first reading.

Council members are asked to call for the election of a mayor and two council members in accordance with the city’s charter.

One resolution seeks to allow the Lawrenceburg Fire Department to enter into an inter-local agreement with the New Prospect Fire Department.

Council members will consider amending the contract, “In lieu of performance bond as it relates to the proper operation and closure/post closure of the City of Lawrenceburg Demolition Landfill, lateral expansion.”

The last resolution up for consideration would authorize the city’s Public Works Department to, “Seek quotes or request bids if necessary for milling of John’s Alley; approximately 895 feet long by 19 feet wide.”

The regular bi-monthly business meeting will get underway at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2014 in the Council Meeting Room of the Lawrenceburg Municipal Complex on the Public Square.
